Scanning a receipt with the iPhone is very easy, all you have to do is tap and hold the photo icon (i.e. Camera) of your iPhone and then launch the BetterCapital app and then scan it with the camera. The app will auto save your receipts in a list on your mobile device so that you can keep track of them conveniently. You can quickly view all your receipts and add them to a list with just one tap by either selecting "Add Money" or "Scan Receipts".

#2) Live Scanning: The Live Scanning feature is an alternative to scanning receipts as it requires you to take a photo of your receipt instead of using an image sensor on your smartphone's camera. This feature is available on the Android version of the BetterCapital app.

#3) In-App Receipts: Better Capital allows its users to access receipts from every major retailer across the USA. If for any reason you cannot scan your receipt in one of these retail outlets, just tap on "Scan Receipts" on your mobile device, which will then allow you to upload it in the app. You will be prompted to upload a receipt for verification purposes. Once confirmed, you will be able to view and save all your receipts in one place without even having to copy and paste them separately on your computer or device.

#4) Automatic Tax Categorization for Real Estate and Property Taxes: Better Capital allows you to categorize the receipt's property tax value as either a "tax exempt" or a "property tax" for easier record keeping. This is an optional feature and can be activated by simply tapping on "Tax Categorization" in the app.

#5) Automatic Calculation of Tax Rates: The BetterCapital app allows you to calculate your current state property tax rate and customize the amount that will be withheld from your payment on the state level. This is also an optional feature but it helps immensely when you are filing your tax return in real time as it helps you keep track of how much money you are saving on your taxes.

#6) Auto-Calculating State, City and Local Tax Rates: Better Capital automatically calculates all your state, local and city tax rates from the current date till the first of January for you. This is an optional feature but it is very helpful when filing your tax return as it helps track how much money you are saving with a simple tap of a button.

#7) Receipt Validation Feature: The BetterCapital app validates all scanned receipts before adding them into your account on their servers. This protects you by ensuring that no phony receipts enter your account and mess up the overall calculations. Better Capital will always verify receipts before they are stored in your account to ensure credibility and accuracy.

#8) Receipt Validation Verification: The BetterCapital app will validate all your scanned receipts before they enter your account and ensure that you are entitled to the money deducted from the receipt. This is done in two ways. The first way is by sending you a link or code; once you have copies, you may manually enter the code into the app to confirm receipt validity. The second way is by sending an SMS message with a one-time use code, which must be entered in your mobile device's mobile app to confirm receipt validity.

#9) In-App Donation Feature: Better Capital has partnered with non-profit organizations, which means that when your account is positive, you automatically donate to these organizations. You have the option of selecting the organization of your choice and can also choose how much money you want to donate to them. The SMS alerts are sent to the numbers that you entered in your profile on the app. You can also receive one time use codes that are applicable to your account by sending an SMS message with your mobile number.

#11) Backing Up Receipts: The BetterCapital app allows you to automatically back up all scans in the app so that they do not get lost or misused later. This can be activated by simply selecting the "Backup" option within the app.
